Family:  Chaetodontidae (Butterflyfishes)
Max. size:  12 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; depth range - 23 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Christmas Island (Ref. 28618). Eastern Central Pacific: Line and Marquesas islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found over rocky and sandy bottoms. Oviparous (Ref. 205). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205). Because of its limited distribution and deep dwelling habits, it will probably remain unknown in the aquarium trade.
