Family:  Cetomimidae (Flabby whalefishes)
Max. size:  11.8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 1500 - 3620 m
Distribution:  Atlantic, Indian and Pacific: three specimens collected between 30°-40°S, one in each ocean. A fourth specimen collected in the Northwest Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-15; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 12-13; Vertebrae: 42-43. Dark brown in color (Ref. 6625).
Biology:
