Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: East Africa to New Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. 7 thin longitudinal lines and irregular dark spots on body; black spot on pectoral base; caudal fin black (Ref. 5493).
Biology:  Occurs in rivers, creeks, and brackish estuaries (Ref. 2847).
