Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 230 - 1040 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Diagnosis:  Interorbital width very narrow, strongly convex in specimens larger than 30 cm, lightly convex in smaller specimens. Dorsal fin origin above front of base of pectoral fins. Preanal LL pores 38-41.
