Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: lower rio Xingu, Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Distinguished from its congeners by having a broad longitudinal, midlateral dark stripe that extends from the snout to the caudal peduncle (Ref. 55826)
Biology:  A rheophilic species which inhabits shadowed, rocky shelters on rapids (Ref. 55826).
