Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 23 - 30 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Natal, South Africa (Ref. 11228) and Mozambique (Ref. 57683).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 15-15; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-17; Anal spines: 3-4; Anal soft rays: 17-18
Biology:  A generally uncommon species that inhabits seaward reefs (Ref. 9710).
