Comments: Type locality of the holotype of Chiloglanis ruziziensis: 'Nyakabuye, rivière Rubyiro (bassin de la Ruzizi), près de la confluence avec la rivière Ntandwe, Rwanda' (Ref. 27627). Known from Rusizi River (Ref. 27627, 46152).

Etymology: Chiloglanis: Greek, cheilos = lip + Greek, glanis = a fish that can eat the bait without touching the hook; a cat fish (Ref. 45335); ruziziensis: Named after the origin of the type specimen, collected from the Ruzizi basin, a channel river between Lake Kivu and Lake Tanganyika (Ref. 27627).
