Remarks | 'Pono' is a global name given to parrotfishes as a group. The marbled parrotfish has become a common food fish in the late 90s. It is caught with accepted traditional methods, e.g. basket traps. It has become one of the most common fish in artisanal fisher's catch but was not a desired food fish when the catch was plentiful a few decades ago. |
