Remarks Probably not referring to this species (questionable record). Porcupinefishes have prominent spines covering their heads ad bodies (Ref. 5288). 'porcupine', i.e., spiny pig, from Latin 'porcus', i.e., pig and 'spinus, i.e., spine (p. 404, Ref. 11979).
