Locality Venezuela, Zulia, Rio Negro, 12 km south of Machiques on way to Tokuko at the bridge, MCNG 24991.
Distribution South America: Colombia and Venezuela (Lake Maracaibo basin).
Quote Populations previously identified as A. leptorhynchus by Schultz, 1949, Galvis et al., 1997, Péfaur, 1988, Lasso et al., 2004a, and Rodríguez-Olarte et al., 2009 based on samples originating in various rivers draining into Lago Maracaibo in both Colombia and Venezuela were found here to be A. anu based on the collecting localities.
