| Quote | Gmelin (1789) mistakenly mentioned the variety 'uarnak' of this Atlanto-Mediterranean species as occurring in the Red Sea, based on Himantura uarnak (Forsskål in Niebur, 1775). Later Misra (1969) referred to Dasyatis (Dasyatis) pastinaca as being quoted to occur in the Red Sea. |
