Named Used as Valid Cabillus macrophthalmus
Comment Species identification questionable.
Locality
Distribution Western Australia (questionable).
Quote WAM-P 29058, 15.5 mm SL, collected at Ashmore Reef (40 km from Hibernia Reef) has 17 pectoral rays (same count as the holotype of C. macrophthalmus) but no scales on the nape. We conclude that it is not C. macrophthalmus but a probable undescribed species.
